Main Udna Chahta Hoon…!!!

Personal Stories

“Main udna chahta hoon, daudna chahta hoon, girna bhi chahta hoon, par rukna nahin chahta’… I delivered it subtly, exactly as we had rehearsed. Karan had made it clear that it had to be the ‘scene of the movie’. I could see the gratification in Ayan’s eyes, but the scene was not over yet. Deepika had to speak next…

The cameras started zooming in. I felt the warm touch of Deepika’s palm on my shoulder. That was so reassuring. We were living the moment.

Suddenly, there was a faint cry of a baby in the distance. Probably, a crew member had brought in his kid. Not to let down the intensity of the scene, I started focusing more.

Deepika’s touch grew a little stronger. She was clearly distracted with the crying baby. I wanted to calm her down signalling with eyes. But the cameras wouldn’t let me do.

The baby’s cry grew louder in voice and Deepika’s touch firmer. This was clearly not going as expected. Why was Deepika shaking my shoulders instead of gentle touch. This was so unlike of Deepika.

Now the baby’s cry became ever more louder. Who on earth would bring an infant to a film set and why on earth is Ayan allowing such people when shooting such intense scenes!!!!

I was expecting a “Cut” anytime now. Deepika had lost all sense and was shaking me vigorously now.

Finally, Deepika delivered her dialogue in a loud shrill tone. “For God’s sake, get up and get the flask from the kitchen. Harsha has been crying for 10 mins now. And for heaven’s sake, get yourself treated. Your snoring is scaring the kids now”…!!!

“Main udna chahta hoon (in fact udke flask le ana chahta hoon)… Main daudna chahta hoon (warna baccha pure mohalle ko jaga dega), main girna bhi chahta hoon (I can’t remember where the damn switches are!!!), par rukna nahin chahta (warna biwi bacchein donon ab laat maarenge)”!!!!

“Cuuuttttttt”!!!!!
