My first long drive in the US (long ago) was quite eventful. It was a drive to Las Vegas. A newly landed foreigner, with a freshly acquired license, driving first time on the opposite side of the road. I must admit, it was heroics of sorts! While my feet were trembling, my heart was roaring!
I clearly remember that freeway had only two lanes. I had put the cruise mode on (~80-85) and was chatting away to glory with my colleagues.
After a while we realised, that people who were overtaking us were giving us a stare. First we ignored but then a lady in her 60s was kind enough to make her anger visible by showing her middle finger while overtaking us :)! Thats when the reality hit us that we were on the wrong lane!
At first, I was angry. It was we who were driving at the right speed and others breaching the limit. Looking back, I was rather naive.
Shifting gears a bit, even in careers, we come across some who are delightfully on a fast track and others who cherish being organic in their growth. Some who enjoy cruising at a steady speed, while others who enjoy actively engaging with accelerators and brakes ;).
Btw, which type are you? Mind you, there is absolutely no speed limit at all in careers! Happy Weekend! 🙂
