Around the same time, a decade ago, I began venturing into active writing. Being a political enthusiast, I was able to throw in my opinions on what I felt the nation needed at that time. While I was blogging about my political opinions, the nation was going through a transformation of sorts. The social media was giving the wings for the opinionated people like me to talk openly and also be criticized openly.
The reason I was driven towards BJP, a decade ago, was the strong impression that the BJP 1.0, I call it the Vajpayee era, created on me. The Vajpayee persona, the Government’s foreign policies, the Pokhran nuclear tests, not repenting losing the power by mere one vote during the no-confidence motion, all of these created a soft corner towards BJP and its leadership.
Modi’s aura and his leadership style is what inspired me to be vocal about my political inclinations. Though I am more inspired by the BJP’s cultural
